Initial Assessment & Treatment

- discussion of the presenting problem
- assessment of the problem
- initial treatment
- education and advice regarding the issue
Initial treatment will be provided during this consultation within the allotted time. Depending on the type and extent of the presenting problem, further appointments may be necessary to continue treatment.
Initial Biomechanical Assessment
Allow 60-75 minutes
Includes:
- full medical history
- discussion of the presenting problem
- assessment of the problem
- full orthopaedic assessment (biomechanical assessment) of foot function
- initial treatment
- education and advice regarding the issue
- provision of temporary orthotics (if required)
Initial treatment will be provided during this consultation within the allotted time. Depending on the extent of the presenting problem, further appointments may be necessary to continue treatment or to provide and fit specialist orthotic insoles.
Please wear shorts or loose fitting trousers and bring a selection of your typical footwear.
Follow Up Appointments General Podiatry and Foot Care (30-60 mins)
Simple
Allow 30 minutes
Includes:
- toenail cutting
- toenail reduction and reshaping
- ongoing verruca treatment
Routine Foot Care
Allow 45 minutes
Includes:
- toenail cutting
- removal of corns
- reduction of callus
- general foot MOT
Complex Foot Care
Allow 60 minutes
Includes:
- toenail cutting and reshaping
- multiple corns and/or callus removal
- suitable for higher risk patients with
- diabetes
- rheumatoid arthritis
- poor circulation
- anticoagulation e.g. warfarin
- diabetic foot health check and education
